Tuition and Fees
You are responsible for all fees billed to your account. Please check your accounts more than just once a month, so you are up to date with your balance. All fees are non-refundable. Tuition will be automatically charged to your current card on file on the first of each month. There is a small convivence fee that will also be charged to your account. All fees may be paid with your card online or in person with cash or check. Tuition is always due on the 1st of each month September 2023-May 2024. August 2023 tuition is due on the 14th of August 2023 (first day of classes). After the 7th of the month, a late fee of $10 per week will be owed. For any returned checks, there will be at $25 fee. Class tuition is based on the amount of time spent in the studio. Please reference our tuition chart for more information. Our dance year is based on a 35-week period. This excludes all holidays when the studio is closed. For parent convince, we split up the payment into 10 equal monthly payments, August - May. If interested, you may pay the amount in full. Those who pay for the year’s tuition in full, you will receive a 10% discount off of the total amount. Dancers will not be allowed to attend class if their tuition and fees are not paid.
Auto-Pay & Card on File
Each dancer is required to enroll in autopay upon registration. As stated above, this card on file will be used for monthly tuition payments on the first of each month. If dance families do not wish to use the card on file, they should pay by check, cash, or other card before the monthly due date on the first of each month. Please try to keep your card on file updated. If your card is declined for any reason, we will notify you, so you can update it. Your card information remains private in our system.
Registration
Recreational class registration closes on November 3, 2023. Classes may fill up before the deadline. Once a class is full, dancers will be able to only put their name on a waitlist. All students must have an active account created in our parent portal system to attend class. You can create an account by going to naturalstatedanceco.com. It is very important that you fill out the account information with the most accurate information possible.
Registration Fee
There is an annual $25.00 registration fee per dancer. This fee secures your spot in a class for the fall-spring dance season. If you have more than one dancer, the maximum registration fee you will pay is $50. This fee is non-refundable.
Family Discount
If your family has more than one dance sibling at the studio, you will receive the family discount of 10% off the total monthly tuition amount.
Refunds
All tuition payments and fees are non-refundable. Refunds and credits are not given when you miss a class.
Attendance
Attendance for all programs is crucial. You have to attend class to improve as a dancer. The closer we are to recital, the more essential it is to attend class. This is not only to benefit you, but also benefits your teammates. Also, please be ready and on time for class. If a dancer misses a class, a make-up class will not be given.
Drop Off & Pick Up
Parents/guardians are responsible to pick up their dancer when the dancer’s class is over. NSDC staff members are not responsible for dancers once their class time ends or before their class time begins. This includes the lobby area.
Class Placement
Class placement is based on each dancer's age, experience, or/and skill level. The placement of a dancer is determined by the NSDC staff. Dancer’s age for class placement is based on the age that they are as of November 1, 2023.
Private/Solo Classes
Solo, duet, and trio classes are billed separately from our regular tuition chart. These classes’ prices vary depending on season. Ask for more price information on these classes. All students must be enrolled in at least one group class to be eligible for a solo, duet, and/or trio class.
Class withdrawal
If you wish to drop a class during the current season, you must provide a written drop request to NSDC. Drop requests must be submitted before the 1st of the month. If the drop request is submitted after the 1st, you will still get billed for that month. If no drop request is submitted, your account will continue to be billed at the 1st of each month. Just because you do not attend class, does not mean it is an official drop. You are still responsible for any outstanding balance even if you drop a class.
Dress Code
Dancers are expected to wear comfortable athletic clothing or dancewear. For example, leotards, leggings, tank tops, t-shirts, and shorts. It is crucial for dancers to wear the correct attire, so the proper alignment can be seen. Dancers must have the correct dance shoes. Hair should be pulled back out of the face and secured. No dangling jewelry allowed. This includes earrings that hang, loose bracelets, and necklaces.
Dance Shoes
The proper shoes should always be worn to class. All recreational dancers are required to order their dance shoes through NSDC. Every dancer in the same group must have the same dance shoes. At the beginning of the year, we will size for shoes and order them. The fees for each style of shoe are listed on the shoe order form. Shoes must be prepaid for before the order will be placed. New shoes may be ordered throughout the year.
Inclement Weather and Holidays
NSDC will follow the surrounding public schools' weather policies and holiday schedules. Please check our social media posts and your email for the latest news. In the event of inclement weather, we will not make up the missed classes.
Communication
Email is the number 1 form of communication at NSDC. You are responsible for checking your email and online account periodically. Monthly newsletters and important information will be emailed to your email account that you entered into our system. We will not mail this information to your mailing address. NSDC will post general updates and reminders on our social media accounts as well.
Expectations in the Studio
No gum or food is allowed in the studio. All drinks should have a lid. Please try to use the restroom prior to class instead of during. Frequent restroom trips are disruptive to the rest of the class. Cell phones should be silenced and put away during class. Street shoes should be removed before entering the studio. This is because some street shoes can damage the dance floor.
Attitude & Bullying
Students are expected to have a positive attitude and be respectful to others. We are a team, and all team members are expected to be encouraging and kind to everyone. NSDC has a zero tolerance for bullying. Any instance of bullying will instantly be handled by a NSDC staff member and the parents/guardians will be notified. If bullying happens more than once by the same dancer, an in-person parent/guardian and teacher meeting will be held to address how to proceed and this may result in dismissal from NSDC.
Closed Door Policy
We have a closed-door class policy. This means that parents/guardians are not allowed into the studios to watch class.
Parent Watch Day
We love parents getting to be apart of their dancer’s journey. However, dancers may get distracted or nervous in the presence of their parents. On the last class meeting of each month, parents will be invited to come and see what their dancer has been working on. The instructor will invite you in to watch at the last 5 minutes of class. Parents/guardians must be in the lobby waiting to be invited in. We will not go out to your car to get you.
Choreography
You must receive permission from your choreographer before you use the choreography for any reason outside of class, recital, or competition. This includes posting choreography to social media, YouTube, etc. If not, this denotes copyright issues.
Costumes
Costumes are required for each recital dance. Costumes will be chosen by the instructor. Your recreational dancer’s first costume is $85.00. If your dancer is in 2 or more routines, your additional costumes are $70.00 each. The first costume cost covers your costume, jewelry, and tights. The additional costume costs only covers the costume. The same jewelry and tights will be used for each routine. Each routine will have a different costume. This means if you are in a combo class, that’s 2 costumes for a total fee of $155. Please budget for this fee. If your costume fee is not paid by the end of day on the due date, your card currently on file with us will be billed for this amount. This fee includes the costume, tights, jewelry, and hair accessories. Every dance requires a different costume. Payment for recital costumes is due by their listed due dates in November- December 2023. (Due dates posted in the important dates document). Recital costume payments may be done in two separate payments or as a whole.
Dance Pictures
A professional photographer will be brought into the studio to take pictures of all the dancers in their recital costume in the spring of 2024. The photo session will be held during class time. There will be group and solo picture options for purchase. Every dancer must come to take the group picture whether they wish to purchase the picture or not. Prices and dates are TBA closer to time.
Recital
All students enrolled in the recreational and competitive programs are required to perform in our annual recital. Dress rehearsal will be held the two days before recital. More details will be announced soon.
Recital Fee
The recital fee is not optional, and the exact fee is TBD. Please budget for this fee to be about $80-$90. Dancers that are enrolled in any of our recreational and/or competitive classes as of March 1, 2024, will be responsible for their recital fee even if they drop before the fee’s due date. If your recital fee is not paid by the end of day on the due date, your card currently on file with us will be billed for this amount. All recital dancers will also be required to purchase a costume for each of their dances, tights, jewelry, and must have the proper shoes. All outstanding balances must be paid in full in order for your dancer to perform in recital.
Class Dismissal
If any rule is broken, depending on the severity, it may result in a dismissal from NSDC. If a dancer is dismissed from classes, the family is still financially responsible for any and all outstanding fees.
Tuition is based on the total amount of time each dancer spends in the studio each week. This is your total time in the studio, not per class.
